I’m too young to be so empty
Too young to be so cold
Too young to be so beautiful
Yet feel so very old
It’s like these sixteen years
Have all been spent in vain
Like every single happiness
Falls from my eyes like rain
I’m too young to be so sad inside
Too young for all these cares
Too young for every burden
That I inadvertently ensnare
I feel the world on my shoulders
That I’m crying everyone’s tears
That every single person
Gives me all their childish fears
I’m too young for all this heartbreak
Too young for all the pain
Too young for every boy
Who ever took my love in vain
It’s like he has my heart
Sitting in his palms
He doesn’t do his part
To keep me still and calm
I’m too young for feeling sorry
So sorry for my pain
And much too young for writing poetry
That always stays the same

Smile as my heart breaks
And bleeds on to my soul
Laugh to mask my dead eyes,
They stare from my drowned soul
